All The Blonde Has Been Cut Off/ Mrs Mac's New Asymmetric Pixie (Pics Update)

Welcome Back To The Pixie Revolution,

As promised here is the all new set of pictures taken last night of Mrs Mac's brand new hairstyle.

It's been a long road to get to this cut. As Mrs Mac had debated on getting this cut last spring and even brought pictures and for some reason the cut didn't turn out the way either of us envisioned it. It was asymmetric but Mrs Mac thought it looked very bowlish. In fact I cant tell you how close we came to Mrs Mac getting our home set of Wahl Clippers and giving herself a all over #2 buzzcut.
No Joke. Mrs Mac was so frustrated and so adamant that she wanted to just start fresh and buzz it all off, that she told me, that I should make the clippers disappear otherwise she would probably buzz all her hair off when I wasn't home.

The fate of Mrs Mac's hair laid in my hands. While some of you are probably saying I blew the chance of letting Mrs Mac give herself a buzzcut, I was thinking along the lines of even though it wasn't a perfect cut, it was getting so long in front, I would have hated to see her lose all that length just because she didn't like the sides.

So that's how our summer went, until a trim here and an trim there brought us to the August hair pics.

That is one of the reasons we didn't post pics from spring through summer though.
By late summer two trims got rid of the asymmetric attempt haircut and the stylist evened out both sides and went back to our gold standard haircut of the Pink/Miley hybrid that Mrs Mac has really liked and made her own in the past year.

As summer rolled down Mrs Mac began parting/combing like Miley and Pink by using a root lifter, some spray and blow drying it to go to one side and swept up as show in pictures from our last post and one below to remind you all.

Below: August 2013:

By September Mrs Mac had grew tired of the look and decided to get a little more then usual cut off. It was still the same cut but just trimmed up. At the time I was a little disappointed because she had cut a good deal of the length she was gaining in front as seen in the August pics.
However Mrs Mac's hair has been growing really fast lately so by late Oct early Nov, it had grown back pretty fast.
About two weeks ago Mrs Mac was thinking of going back to a Demi Moore, Elisha Cutberth pixie that she had back in 08' and then all of a sudden last week she decided on her own by finding pics on her own that she wanted to go with an asymmetric cut, keeping her length.

Below: The pics Mrs Mac found that were the inspiration for her newest hairstyle:

At first glance of seeing the pics/style she had selected I was sceptical at first. I was really attached and grew accustomed to her Pink/Miley Cyrus haircut. The buzzed undercut pixie has been by far my absolute favorite on Mrs Mac and in general the past few years.

Anyway the time for the cut came last Thursday and even though I arrived late for the cut, I wasn't disappointed when I arrived and saw an all new haircut on Mrs Mac. I did get there just in time, to see the stylist, use the #1 guard clippers and run it up the back of Mrs Mac's nape one more time, even though it had been buzzed off before I arrived. and I also got to witness the final touches of the cut as the stylist, chopped off the remaining blonde hair that Mrs Mac still had from her blonde highlights that were grown in and down pretty long.
On the floor was a ton of brown buzzed hair all from Mrs Mac's nape, back and sides, and then there was ALL that blonde hair that layed on the cape and on the backside of the chair around Mrs Mac's shoulders.
And then it hit me all the blonde was gone.

In replace of it is Mrs Mac's beautiful natural color of a light brownish/natural dark blonde highlights.
And as our sylist finished the cut, I realized how awesome this cut was as it perfectly rested on Mrs Mac's cheek and angled up and cut up and around her ear , yet was still undercut.

This new cut it definetly great looking and is already my new favorite. It's in Frankie Sanford, and Natalie Maines territory.
And if Mrs Mac stays true to her plans, it's going to look even better as it grows longer infront.
The sharp lines, the slight angle, the #1 undercut, this cut has it all.
Here's Mrs Mac's all new asymmetric light brown pixie.
Enjoy!
~Mac~

  3. Hey Enzo, thanks for the comment. Not sure why it's not showing up right now on here as I saw it earlier. But thank you for the kind words on Mrs Mac's hair. While it might be shoter over all, the trade off of having it longer in front is a bonus.

  6. Mac,

What do you think of Jennifer Lawerence's new blonde pixie cut. I just saw her on a TiVo-ed "Daily Show". I think she looks great. I saw the photos of her in "The Hunger Games" and thought nothing of her. But this new cut looks great.

  7. Hey Perfect Cut. Thanks for the comments. In regards to Jennifer Lawerence's pixie cut. I think it's great looking. Like you I never gave her much notice in the Hunger Games, and saw her in Silver Lining Playbook and thought she was cute but nothing striking or gorgerous. The new blonde pixie though really brings out her beauty. If you want to see more check out on youtube the interview segement she did on the Late Show With David Letterman. You can really see her pixie in it. David Letterman even rubs his hands on her hair.

  8. What a lovely cut she got!
The longer front realy makes it perfect together with the tight clippered nape.

Could we get some pictures of a home clippering session when you give the #1 a go on her undercut?

    Best regards to you both!

  9. Hey Shorty,
    Thanks for the comments.
The nape and sides were actually buzzed to a #1 in these pictures, as they were taken right after the cut.

Mrs Mac is due for another in salon trim, rebuzzing next week, although she likes the length so much in front and on top, all that will be done is a rebuzzing probably. On that note, since late spring we haven't done any home rebuzzing unfortunately. I wouldn't attempt with this current cut seeing it's slightly blended on the sides and not as undercut anymore. Secondly, it seems Mrs Mac is anxious and antsy when it's the summer months to have me rebuzz it at home seeing how fast it grows then and how she has to wait 6-8 week for her appointments. In the fall and winter with cooler temps, she doesn't seem to mind the wait for a rebuzing until appointment time.

  10. Shorty: I will be sure to post pictures right after the cut though, as Mrs Mac will be getting it rebuzzed with a #1 guard again next Thursday. I hear ya Shorty, I miss giving Mrs Mac's undercut home rebuzzing. I just have to be patient and hope come late spring I'll get a chance at it again.

  11. John> Thank you for you answer!
    I meant a #1 refresh. ;)
Okay, better leave it to the hairdersser when its blended togehter with the top if you dont feel that comfort with that kind of cutting. Pretty easy to mess up the line of the longer hair.

Yeah, the summer often makes them want to have a more maintaned haircut. :) Same here at home.

Looking forward to your update next week! (maby some photos during the haircut? If your coming along with here)
And holding my thumbs that the spring will let here get you close with the clippers again. :D

Really nice M-pattern shaved at the bottom! I gave my whife the same pattern some months this summer, but i shaved (first clipper and then shaving cream and strait razor) hers a little bit steeper, higher up and here hair is colored black so that makes is extra nice and visible. :)
The pattern is something you could maintain on her to have atleast something to do on her hair between her appontments. ;)

    Regards
    Shorty

  12. Could we get some pre haircut pictures before her cut next week?

  13. Hi Shorty,

Yeah, The M pattern is one of my favorites. That along with a nice outline and a little v left in the center with out the corner M's.
I did redo the shape last summer as well. I'm hoping this spring and summer, Mrs Mac will let me do some in between rebuzzing. Right now since the new cut she's been really adamant about leaving to the professional. She actually asked me to take some pics of her hair though in the next few days, and I'll share them as before with the after pics. It doesn't look too much different then these pictures, just a month of growth. Mrs Mac plans on getting it rebuzzed to a #1 Thursday.

  14. Yes, the clean clippered/shaved outline with just a V left in the middle is also very nice. That's how my whifes wears it right now.

We keep her sides a little bit longer now during the cold winter and I'm letting the nape grow into a more mohawk style in the middle.
She had a tight #2 buzz all around sides and nape before with the nape faded down to #000 (0.5mm).
The top is longer and sweeping (almost like Mrs. Mac) to the right, but my whifes hair is shorter on the top to give it some "spikiness" :).

Damn what I miss taking the Andis clippers with the #2 blade attached and give her a nice clippered undecut, fade the nape down to nothing and then rub my hands over it..... May the spring come quick so I can clipper her sides again and have the hawk styled spikey with some gel and wax down the nape.!

  19. Do you have any idea when you might post some new picks? Should I bother checking out your blog all the time? Or will it be months before you update your blog? Thx

  22. Probably never, but for children with sensory issues, the feel, weight, and movement of their own hair can be extremely distracting.
Only in this way can the jewelries you choose make you more beautiful.
When choosing the bride's tiara, this is an important
    aspect.

  23. If you have an afternoon reception, a casual, windswept
style would be perfect. The cream will help to
minimize breakage and soften the twist. If you are tired of that long hair and you feel that short layered hair will be easier to take care of, then you
    may be right.
